Happy Love Month! At this time, it’s hard not to notice the abundance of red and pink hues everywhere. February is often linked with sentiments of romantic love, encouraging a greater emphasis on expressing affection to partners, particularly because Valentine’s Day occurs mid-month.
This period inspires feelings of connection and celebration of love in diverse forms; for some, it brings excitement and anticipation, while others may feel pressured or lonely if they’re not in a relationship. It’s undeniable that our emotional health is influenced by the state of our close relationships, be they romantic, friendships, family, or colleagues.
I must confess, this is the first time in ages that I’ve experienced happiness instead of societal pressures and loneliness. Typically, around this time, I’m on the verge of a breakdown from witnessing people being lavished with what I used to long for—not only from a romantic partner but from friends as well.
To celebrate, I’ll enjoy a French Martini, a sophisticated cocktail perfectly blending vodka, pineapple juice, and raspberry liqueur.

Ingredients
- 2 ounces vodka
- 1/4 ounce Chambord black raspberry liqueur
- 1 3/4 ounces pineapple juice
Instructions
- Add the vodka, Chambord and pineapple juice into a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.
- Fine-strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
