Ah, vacation bliss! There’s truly nothing I cherish more than a getaway — no early alarms, no laptops, no work-related stress! I recently returned from a much-needed break, allowing myself to step away from my usual routines to simply relax and rejuvenate. Despite how packed this vacation could have been, I made sure to catch up on the sleep I had been missing. Although I diverged from my daily habits, being in novel surroundings and embarking on new adventures ignited my creativity and sparked fresh ideas.
This was my second trip to Mexico, and the experience just keeps getting more delightful each time. I embarked on a voyage with Carnival Firenze from Long Beach, California. The cruise was everything I had hoped for, featuring stunning ocean vistas, engaging adult activities, secluded spots, mouthwatering cuisine, poolside relaxation, a variety of entertainment options including shows and movies, diverse dining experiences, shopping opportunities, participation in sports and games, and exploration of shore excursions at various destinations.
We made two stops, one in Ensenada, Mexico, and the other in Cabo. I indulged in every tequila tasting, shot, and cocktail mix. Ensenada was a fantastic stop; the locals were eager to sell, making the shopping experience unforgettable. Upon arriving in Ensenada, I took a tour of the city, which included a two-hour visit to La Bufadora, home to one of the largest blowholes in the world. Besides gathering souvenirs and sampling tequilas, I also tasted grilled clams served in their shells.
In Los Cabos, I ventured beyond my comfort zone, navigating unfamiliar settings. For those who don’t know, I can’t swim, which makes large bodies of water somewhat intimidating. Upon arriving in Los Cabos, I had to board a water taxi to travel from the cruise ship to the shore. Let’s just say, I probably prayed more in that hour than any other time. I clung to my life jacket for safety, but it turned out to be an unforgettable experience. During the taxi ride, I toured The Arch of Cabo San Lucas, cruised past Los Arcos and Lovers Beach, and marveled at the Sea of Cortez (also known as the Gulf of California) to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. I even got to feed fish while touring. I’m still amazed by the beauty of the water and how close I was to it. I might just need to learn how to swim.

My journey on the Carnival Firenze and in Mexico was nothing short of amazing. I can’t wait for my next vacation.
