Tonight, we sip on something pretty and delicious! It’ll be like winter wonderland in your mouth. With the holidays being here, trying to wrap up 2023 and prepare for 2024, while still doing community service and shopping when stores are ridiculously crowded, I need a cocktail that is refreshing and relaxing.
Soooooo…. Sis, have a BlackBerry Bramble with me.
BlackBerry Bramble is a modern cocktail that brings back childhood memories. Growing up, I would go pick blackberries with my grandfather at a field across the street from my great grandmothers house. On the days he didn’t take me with him he’d bring me a lot back home.
Brambles is the delicious combo of citrusy lemon, sweet sugar and tart blackberries. The drizzle of Crème de Mûre at the end is what makes the pretty pink hue.
While many may think brambles and blackberries the same thing, they are not. Brambles are the bushes that grow blackberries, and blackberries are the fruit that develop from these bushes.
BlackBerry Bramble

Ingredients
- Fresh blackberries. You will need fresh blackberries to make the puree portion of this drink.
- Vodka. There are not many ingredients in this blackberry bramble so make sure to find a nice smooth vodka. I love using either Kettle One vodka or Tito vodka.
- Lemon juice. You can use fresh lemons or bottled lemon juice here.
- Granulated sugar. This is for the simple syrup you are making for the blackberry cocktails.
- Cubed or crushed ice.
- Soda water.
- Fresh mint sprigs or blackberries for garnish.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Pour Beefeater Gin, Lemon Juice and Marie Brizard Cane Sugar Syrup into a shaker without ice and shake thoroughly.
- Strain into a glass filled with crushed ice.
- Pour the blackberry syrup over the back of a spoon so that it settles as a layer on top of the cocktail.
- Decorate with 2 pcs. blackberries and serve.
