The Girls Love Matcha

It’s me!…I’m the girl lol

But no seriously, the girls love matcha.

There’s something about walking into a cute little coffee shop, ordering an iced matcha in a pretty cup and feeling like you have your life together even if your inbox or emails says otherwise.

I didn’t always understand the matcha obsession, but once I found the right combination, I was sold.

My favorite way to enjoy matcha is iced, creamy and slightly sweet. I love that earthy, almost grassy taste, especially when it’s balanced with something sweet or fruity, and that’s the fun part about matcha: you can make it your own.

Vanilla matcha? Yes.

Strawberry matcha? Absolutely.

Lavender? Give it to me.

Banana pudding? Now we’re talking.

Peach, mango, honey, brown sugar, chocolate… the list goes on.

You can keep it simple with matcha and your favorite milk, or turn it into a whole little experience. Almond milk, oat milk, coconut milk—there are so many ways to customize your cup.

I’m still playing with recipes to remove the milk.

But Is Matcha Actually Good for You?

Beyond being cute for the ‘Gram, matcha has some legitimate benefits.

Matcha is made from finely ground green tea leaves, so unlike traditional green tea, you’re consuming the whole leaf. That means it contains antioxidants called catechins, including EGCG, which have been studied for their potential health benefits.

It also contains caffeine, so it can give you that little morning or afternoon boost. One thing I particularly like about matcha is that it also contains L-theanine, an amino acid associated with relaxation and alertness. The combination of caffeine and L-theanine is one reason some people describe matcha’s energy as feeling smoother than coffee.

And listen… sometimes I don’t need a triple espresso.

I just need my little green drink to mind its business and help me get through the day. 😂

So, Should You Join the Matcha Girls?

Yes.

Find a coffee shop you love. Try an iced vanilla matcha. Then try strawberry. Then maybe banana. Before you know it, you’ll be standing at the counter asking about their matcha specials like you’ve been doing this for years.

If you don’t love it the first time? Try a different one.

The quality, sweetness, milk and preparation can make a BIG difference.

Matcha isn’t just a drink anymore. It’s a little lifestyle.

And honestly.. The girls are having fun with it. 💚
